SPECIES INFO

The Green-backed Eremomela, Eremomela pusilla, is a small warbler. This bird is a common resident breeder in tropical Africa from Senegal to Zaire and southern Sudan.

This tiny passerine is typically found in open woodland. The Green-backed Eremomela builds a cup-shaped nest of leaves and silk low in a bush or tree. The normal clutch is two eggs.

These 10.5 cm long warblers have olive upperparts and yellow underparts. The throat is white. The sexes are similar in appearance.

Like most warblers, the Green-backed Eremomela is insectivorous. Its call is a squeaky tuuu and the song is a trill.
