The Cobalt-winged Parakeet (Brotogeris cyanoptera) is a species of bird in the Psittacidae family, the true parrots. It is found in the eastern Andean foothills, the far western Amazonian regions in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia; in Brazil, the Amazon Basin states of Amazonas, Acre, and Rondonia. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and heavily degraded former forest.
Extreme western Amazon Basin range/Andean foothills
The range of the Cobalt-winged Parakeet is in the extreme western Amazon Basin in Brazil's states's of Amazonas, Acre, and Rondônia, part of the North Region; also from north to south, southernmost Venezuela, eastern Colombia-Ecuador-Peru, and northern and central Bolivia, and in Bolivia within the tributary rivers to the Madeira River flowing northeast to the Amazon River. One small disjunct, localized population occurs in Bolivia's northeast border region near the Guapore River headwaters.
