It is found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montanes.
