The Rufous Bristlebird (Dasyornis broadbenti) is a species of bird in the Dasyornithidae family. It is endemic to Australia.

Its natural habitat is temperate forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.

Rufous Bristlebirds are not listed as threatened on the Australian Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999.

State of Victoria, Australia

• The Rufous Bristlebird (including both subspecies occurring in Victoria) is listed as threatened on the Victorian Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act (1988). Under this Act, an Action Statement for the recovery and future management of this species has been prepared.

• On the 2007 advisory list of threatened vertebrate fauna in Victoria, both subspecies of the Rufous Bristlebird that occur within the state are separately listed as near threatened. This includes the Coorong subspecies (Dasyornis broadbenti broadbenti) and the Otways subspecies (D. b. caryochrous).
