The Stripe-backed Bittern (Ixobrychus involucris) is a species of heron in the Ardeidae family. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, Venezuela, and possibly Ecuador. Its natural habitat is swamps.
