The Yellow-rumped Honeyguide, Indicator xanthonotus is a bird that is native to India. It is found along the Himalayas, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Tibet, Nepal and Burma.
Like other honeyguides it leads humans and bears to bee hives. They are among a few vertebrates capable of feeding on bees-wax.
They are brood parasites, laying their eggs in the nest of host species. The host species for the Yellow-rumped Honeyguide are as yet unknown and undocumented. The male are polygynous and have lekking displays.
