Hi Tom. The Short-tailed was seen close to shore for a while on Wednesday morning. It was seen further out in the Bay later that day and has not been reported since. This being pelagic birding, the thingto do is to get on the water and keep your fingers crossed. I will be leading an eight-hour trip for Monterey Seabirds on Sunday but that boat is sold out. Monterey Bay Whale Watch boats have spent time with the albatross on all their trips that found it on Wednesday and are very likely to do so again if the bird is refound. https://www.montereybaywhalewatch.com/ Good luck!
